Many buses are now equipped with security cameras. By functioning as deterrents to criminal activity and inappropriate behavior, these cameras provide passengers and drivers with an added sense of security, and can also supply valuable evidence during criminal investigations.
Protect bus – Because of their precious cargo, a special set of traffic rules exists for both bus drivers and other motorists (ex: motorists must stop when public buses are boarding riders or letting them off, buses must stop completely at railroad crossings, whether the barriers are down or not).
Surveillance cameras pointed outside buses can help identify motorists who illegally pass buses, or identify driver erratic and dangerous driver behavior.
